The beautiful Brooke and amazing sunset portraits at White Rock Lake
I met Brooke earlier in the year at a TFP photography event I organized earlier in the year. I only had a small window of time to work with her, but I still got some great portraits. Fast forward 6 months later, and we finally had a chance to work together again.
We decided on a sunset shoot, and met up at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I knew this shoot was going to lend itself perfectly to a film style editing, so I couldn’t wait to get back home and download our session.
Brooke was really easy to work with, and took direction really well. She knew her angles and moved effortlessly for me and the camera. Her natural curly hair glistened in the light, and created strong light and shadows in the photos.
Looking back, I wish I had an off camera flash unit to help with this shoot. This would have helped add small amounts of light to her face and front body area. The sun was positioned behind her so I knew I was going to get really strong rim light highlights. I think it ended up adding some beautiful halo effects so I would gladly do it again.
