My Camera Bag

My current camera bag is small but packed with some great equipment that I have gathered over the last few years. I invested in sharp prime lenses and great cameras that I can grow with over the next few years. Check out what’s in my camera bag.

Sony a7Sony a7

I purchased the original Sony a7 in the winter of 2015 when I started photography, and it was my go-to camera for over 2 years. The single-spot autofocus is incredible for taking still portraits, especially when paired with wide open prime lenses.

I upgraded to the Sony a7ii during the winter of 2017. The upgraded autofocus system for more movement with my models and subjects was key to doing more lifestyle concepts.

Sony 35mm Distagon f/1.4

Sony Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA Lens

I picked up the Sony 35mm from a friend who was switching to the Fuji camera system. This lens is sharp and does great when focusing on moving subjects. I use this lens most when doing lifestyle photography in urban outdoor areas.

Sony Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 Lens

Sony Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA Lens

The Sony 55mm is my favorite lens for all around shooting. I can do portraits and lifestyle photography with this lens. It still rarely comes off my Sony a7, and I like to keep it handy for quick test shoots.

Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GMaster Lens

Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GMaster Lens

The Sony 85mm lives up to the GMaster name. It is incredibly sharp, but also the heaviest lens I own. I use this lens for studio photography and love taking portraits with it. I love the compression I get and continue to keep this paired with my Sony a7ii.

Godox VING V860IIS TTL Flash w/ Godox X1T-S TTL Wireless Trigger

This combination allows me to do HSS (High-Speed Sync) flash photography outdoors and indoors if needed. I can control the flash off camera with the wireless trigger and get the right amount of power needed when I’m shooting.

Investing in Camera Gear

I am constantly working to invest in new camera gear for my Sony collection. Researching is key before buying new equipment. I also rent gear to test before purchasing, and I highly recommend doing this before you make large purchases.
