Working with Elisa was a huge win in my book. She is currently a signed model and actress in the Dallas area. She was kind enough to join our model shoot, and I loved every minute of it. Elisa is a natural in front of the camera. She poses really well and has great natural facial expressions.
Street Style Model Shoot
For this shoot, we kept the style very street fashion based, and mixed in a ton of lifestyle shots. This model shoot was done with my Sony A7ii and 55mm f1.8. the lens is tack sharp and worked perfectly for catching the hair flowing in the wind and movements of the model.
Working the streets of downtown Plano
We got lucky with the weather, so I had Elisa walking up and down the street for the shoot. We stopped by some apartments, and I had her do some sitting poses on a local bus bench. There was also a small hallway in the local photography studio that we used to get some more intimate and closer shots. I had to switch to my Sony 35mm f1.4 for the closer photos, but it worked out nicely in the end.
What I learned from this model shoot
When I started my photography journey, it was doing all natural light shoots. I really stick to that mode of shooting, and I realize it is probably time to start working more with off camera flash (OCF). I know the light would provide more highlights on the face and bring out the shadows. In the end, I am very happy with how the model shoot came out and I look forward to working with Elisa again in the future.
