I had the opportunity to meet and work with Valeria at the LovePicLove studios in Deep Ellum. She was a natural light beauty that made it really easy to work with in studio. The studio was mostly dark, with a large set of 3 windows facing the front of the second story room. This made a perfect place to capture Valeria in a comfortable studio setting.
Natural Light Beauty Valeria in Dallas Studio
Her eyes are beautiful and she with ease. I stayed pretty close in proximity to her during the shoot so I could capture the details of the face and upper body. Many of the shots were done with the Sony 55mm 1.8, and I shot wide open on a majority of the shoot. We moved into a hallway and back room and I switched to the Sony 28mm 2.0, so I could get some wider shots in a close setting. Overall, I love the set and can’t wait to work with her again in the future.
What I learned from this set
The studio was in an old loft style area, so the walls and textures of the interior were great. There were many places that had heavy shadows and I tried to stay away from those. In hindsight, I wish I had tried a few more moody shots in certain areas of the studio. I think this would have made for more interesting shots of light and shadows.
