Continuing with my model sessions with Amy and this Fort Worth lifestyle photography set. I met Amy online within mutual TFP photography groups and we followed each others work on Instagram. My go-to makeup artist reached out and set upa shoot with Amy in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth and the shoot turned out to be so much fun.
Fort Worth lifestyle photography
Amy has an amazing smile and a great personality that made the shoot really easy to do. We walked around the streets and this gave us an opportunity to get some beautiful lifestyle shots with Amy in action. There were 3 wardrobe changes and she looked stunning in all of them. I had my favorite MUA, Isabel Gacharich on location with me to help with beauty and styling. Overall, I like all the different backgrounds and city views I was able to capture.
What I learned from this set
With this set, I asked Amy to keep moving. We tried some posed shots, but I really liked the ones where she is moving around. She did some small twirls and walking movements towards me for effect and I liked these photos the most. I was not sure how the continuous auto-focus tracking was going to do with the A7, but I will admit, it did pretty well for this shoot. My go-to lens for most of the shoot was the Sony GMaster 85mm 1.4 lens. I think for a small time I use the 55mm 1.8, but I wanted to get closer to the model so I switched back. Shooting wide open at 1.4 is my standard, but many of these shots were at around 2.0-2.8.
I knew with the movement she was doing, I needed a sharper aperture. My next section of study will be posing and trying to get more dynamic shots. Maybe moving the camera to different heights if possible.
