Anna is a Russian model and ballerina that I had a chance to meet through a mutual friend. She wanted to do a simple portrait shoot in an urban location with old character and style. Dallas is a great place to shoot, but its a bit of a modern urban jungle.
Natural Light Shoot
So with that in mind, I met Anna in downtown Mckinney. It offered old downtown charm and was a great backdrop for our portrait session.
The natural light portrait session was quick and easy. We had a great time joking around and I got some great outtakes from the shoot. Check out this small gallery of some of my favorite from my shoot with Anna.
What I learned from this set
The studio was in an old loft style area, so the walls and textures of the interior were great. There were many places that had heavy shadows and I tried to stay away from those. In hindsight, I wish I had tried a few more moody shots in certain areas of the studio. I think this would have made for more interesting shots of light and shadows.
